Anything raised to the zero power is 1.
Here is a way to remember this:
2^3 divided by 2^3 = 8/8 = 1
If you write this as (2)(2)(2)
(2)(2)(2)
All of the 2's will cancel and you will be left with no 2s
therefore 2 to the zero power :)
